I have a Boosteroo, they work great. 2 AA batteries and good to go. Last a while too, as I have not changed the batteries since... hmmm...never.

I retired it when I got my Autocom as that has a volume/squelch setup.
I use it on the train now when the ride gets loud.

Radio Shack has a version of the Boostaroo for about $24. I picked one up after learning that the windshield on my R1100R wasn't as good as the one on my old Virago...

It easily doubles the volume of my 8 Ohm helmet speakers (converted from a pair of cheapie Sony earclips). Bigger speakers with greater impedance (Ohms) may not get as big a boost.

Note that these inline amps do not contain a volume control, so you'll still need to jockey the knob on your Ipod and/or headset.

I really love the ipod and it has changed touring for me forever!

Only one other RUSHian out there? After reading Neils books and getting into his lyrics and knowing the soul searching he found on his bike I find myself drawn to the guys... after all ...the point of the journey is not to arrive Neil Peart
and who can't relate to Driven....when the lyrics clearly suggest (metaphoricly of course) riding rather than driving....hmmmm

I mix it up with classic rock Mostly 70's due to my age and generation,
I really like some jazz too, Louis and Ella, Nora Jones and Diana Krahl, I even like some classic Frank and Tony in there too.

But you are right, Rob. I've heard that same low mellow tone on my bike.

I find them extremely relaxing, and of course the spritual benefit can't be quantified. I try to find CD's that have the lyrics; I really enjoy learning some Latin; not too hard when you already know 3 Romance languages....
