His method puts a lot of stress on the stones. I wonder whether ancient engineers would use that technique on a stone that took months to transport to the site.
Come to think of it, though, if they used that pivoting method of transport, a stone with any weakness would probably have broken long before it arrived, maybe just yards away from the quarrying site.
