Just read an article on the Moto Guzzi Breva 1100. Some of you may have seen this already, but Canada now has a new official importer - so it's news up here
Man, does it look like the R or what?
Specs 'seem' close to the R as well - but not quite!
Before I got my 04 R, I had a MG Breva 750. Loved the bike. Incredibly easy to ride. The most "flickable" bike I've ever had. Had an oil leak that was fixed under warranty but, while it was in the shop, I spied the R sitting at the local Harley dealer. Test rode it and decided I would give BMW a try until the insurance goes down on the Breva 1100 and Griso. (quoted at $800/yr!) The thing that drew me to the R was that it looked so much like the Breva. (chicken, egg, who cares!) Finally got around to test riding the Breva 1100 last month. Salesman asked me what I thought about it. Response..."I wouldnt trade the Beemer for it". Would let me touch the Griso though.
I also test rode the Breva 1100 nice but not as good as a R1150R, so I bought the R. This is after 30 years on Guzzi's. Now the Griso gets me thinking .......
Read a review of the Breva, think it was in Bike(uk), where someone from Guzzi said their benchmark was the R1150R, sounded like they got the performance close. But did you see the comparison in the R1200r forum? 0-200km/hr, 14 sec for the R, 27.7 sec for the breva! I rest my case.
I don't know about motorcycles, but I hear that Italian car designers are the best, and car makers from all over the world hire Italian firms to design new vehicles. So, who knows maybe the same person did design both motorcycles !
Nobody is sure perfect, but she practiced tirelessly !
