New to the Beemer and this Board

Post by RForestR »

Hey Folks!

Just got myself a shiny new 2005 R1150R at the start of June. Almost 6000 kilometers later I can honestly say that I Love the bike! can't say enough good things about it, and am glad to see that there is a dedicated community out there of fellow R riders.

This is the first BMW of my Looonnnggg biking career...and now I know why I waited. It's like a fine wine ain't it? The longer the wait, the more the anticiptation builds and the more satisfying the taste. (Did I mention that I Love this bike?)

Well, glad to have found this board, and like minded individuals from all over the world. In the meantime, my very first post resides in the Great Rides section, titled The Great ride east. Figured the first post had to be a good one after all the fantastic stuff I've read and seen on this site.

Cheers to all of you, and glad to be here :D

Great pics! Loved your travel post, but it's killing me. Vacation all used up! (Went to the Athens AMA event.)

It is a likable bike, isn't it...

Welcome from another owner of a dark metallic blue beakster (don't see many in that color...has anyone mentioned it handles better than the other colors?). Great trip report in Great Rides. I live here in New Hampshire and know what a treat it is to have those great roads right outside my door, so to speak. Vermont is also a fantastic place to ride. And, since my wife is Canadian (Quebecoise), I'd love to travel up to the Laurentians or the Gaspe sometime.

Enjoy that beemer. It really is a terrific bike (especially the blue ones).

Thanks all for the warm welcome. And I agree with you apaulcopy, the blue beak certainly does seem to stick awefully nice...especially on those "must have been built with bikes in mind" roads you have in your home state.
