It's a Girl!

Post by scottybooj »

Well, last week on August 3rd, Ariella Jade came into our lives...quite hastily!

She was 5 days past due and my wife had a total of 3 hours of labor. Our little girl was almost born in the car on the way to the hospital!

Turns out I could've made it to the rally....nah...my wife would have KILLED me!

She was 7lbs. 4oz and 20inches tall at birth. She came out in one push! Must have been the excellent chiropractic care my wife received while pregnant!

Ahh, Daddy's little girl. Now to start planning for that side hack.... :smt098

Thanks everyone.

Actually, I've been sleeping great! My son had coxsackie virus last week and I may have had it as well, so my wife and daughter have been staying at her mom's for the week! My son and I have been in 'quarantine' at our house!

So I am sure the sleepless nights will begin this weekend when they move back in!

Doh!

Scott - congrats on the girl! Glad everyone is OK. 3 hours of labor and one push!?! Good job by the wife! I nearly delivered one of mine too!

I probably would have killed some teenage boy by now if I had had girls instead of boys!

Good luck when she starts dating! And hope she looks like her mother! :P

Woo hoo! Congrats. I'll be a new papa on August 22nd, can't wait. Scheduled C section, as the little guy doesn't have his head anywhere near the birth canal.

I'm at that joyous stage right now with my 2...when boys come to the door and ask if one or the other is in, I just say 'Nope', and close the door.

Awww... too cool! For the longest time I didn't know how much joy children can bring you, but now I do, first-hand. It really is the best thing there is, and takes your life to the next level.

thank you all for the well wishes.

the excitement of her birth is tempered by the difficulty I know what is to come with raising a daughter. Everyone says that sons are so much easier.

oy vey.

Can't comment on the latter but I used to have hair...never had this nervous twitch, or the nightmares...everyone tells me they're going through a hormonal phase which only lasts about 10 years. You'll be fine, just be prepared to build an extension on your house when she hits the teens and lock yourself in till it's over! :D

About raising daughters - I used to joke, before the birth of my first son, that if we had girls, dating rules would require each boy on the first date come in the house to meet me.

And I would be cleaning a gun on the dining room table!

Everyone would laugh but one girl once told me her dad did just that and she didn't get kissed until she went off to college! It worked!

I guess this option isn't available for some of you in the UK and Aussie land.
