Naked'er bike.

Post by Marku »

There something about a pure factory bike I just don't like. I love this bike like crazy. But the orange doesn't do anything for me. I don't like racing stripes of any kind. But this did nothing in stopping from buying this beast. I want my bike to be a bit more NAKED. :P

I wanna get rid of all the orange and just keep the grey blue and black.

So far I found that people used a hair dryer and goo off to remove the
decals.

I figure the rims need to be powder coated.

But what is the best kind of paint to use for the "oil cooler covers" and the fairing?

Could some of you guys give your best suggestions or links, please.

Thank you.

Try 'Albrta Wheel Repair and Restoration' in Calgary for wheel quotes...they do motorcycle wheels...(295-0065)...and Top Gun Coatings for powdercoat, as they will do 'small' jobs, where most powdercoat places won't.....(but the wheel guys can best advise wheel colorings/coatings...our wheels have kind of a strange coating...I know as I damaged mine...and will wait until winter to repair...)..

Good luck! Let me know what happens if you decide to 'chop' the rear fender...as I've been thinking about that mod....

Nice to know someone whos not afraid to change things up!

In Belgium we have the "Black Rockster"
You can just buy them like this, no need to remove stickers :D

I'm a new Rockster owner and have never been more in love. I choped my tail and pulled all the stickers.(hair dryer) I cleans up quickly and gives it a great look. I will post photo's once this rain stops so I can snap a few.

Lacrimosa, I tried to fix your links, but couldnt. Try re-uploading the pics, but dont use spaces in the filename. Its amazing in this day and age, the internet still doesnt know how to deal with spaces!

I agree... the de-decalled Rockster looks great. I and about 30 hours away from buing the same moded\color scheme and may look at doing the same thing myself. Nice. How does it ride 2 up??? How does it ride on long trips?

I've just noticed on the Black Rockster you can see where the stickers used to be. Is there a way to get rid of that?

I've just took the warning label off my tank. It also left a mark. It worries me to do the rest.

Is it just glue residue?
