Stupid rubber thing

Post by single650 »

I guess this is not really just a Rockster thing. but how many owners have lost the stupid rubber bung that covers the timing matks inside the hole?

I'm feeling a bit stupid as I had just bought one as it was missing, I was just getting it in place and it disappeared inside the hole  I guess its gone to join the previous one.

Can't think that it will do any damage being rubber, I think I'll just blank the hole with sticky tape in future.

i believe that you are in company with many riders, having a small rubber thingy inside their housing. luckily i read about this here and have never touched it.
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

I lost one because the service techs didn't replace it.

oh, they probably replaced it. right inside the hole. no big deal, it won't hurt anything as confirmed by a couple techies i trust.

one thing they mentioned it that you don't need that hole to find TDC. so if you get another plug and put it in carefully, you can never remove it again.
