Shaving your face

I like to use the Mach III Turbo disposable cartridges and Edge Gel. Sometimes I'm lazy and I'll use my wife's Norelco, she doesn't.

The new 5 blade Fusion is painful but gives the closest shave ever.

I'm considering a cheapy (Remington?) cordless shaver to use when traveling on the bike for pure convenience. If I don't shave, the chinstrap really gives me a rash.

After a decade of facial hair, I'm now shaving again and I got to tell you, the new shaving technology is amazing (Mach III is the best razor I've ever used). But, does it beat the straight razor?

I'd like to know if there are any Luddites out there still engaging in the potentially dangerous art of straight razor shaving. I'd like to give it a try as it seems that once you got the technique down you'd get an insanely close shave, which would be worth it for me--I get the dingle Tracey-face a mere four hours after shaving.

Had the MachIII until earlier this week; don't like the gel stuff (too much work to make the foamy stuff).

Got one of those in the mail a few weeks ago and just started using it this week. Man - that's a lot of blades! I have a hard time getting close to the sideburns. Clean shave and quicker than the Mach III, but I wonder how much blades will cost?

I haven't used an electric for over 10 years and I need to give one a try again.

Straight razor? No thanks too many resulting cuts if it's in my hands, but I *do* like the barber shops that use warm shaving cream and a straight razor! They get the good tips.

Braun Model 8595. The thing's amazing. Even cleans itself in the handy charger cleaning station. Every shave's like shaving with a new razor.
Shaving with a real blade gives me an unsigthly razor burn all over my neck, so I gave up the blade many, many years ago. My Dad was also an electric razor guy... Anyone shave with a different method than their father?

I shave my head and most of my face evry day. ( I have a gotee (SP?)).

The Mach III Turbo, the vibrating model with a battery, is by far the best I have tried. Being in Japan, I haven't seen the five blade model yet.

I will say that Shick sucks for me. I tried several different Shick models and although they are very sharp, they aren't flexible and I have to take several extra strokes.

I also have a Panasonic electric model 86XX. It works very well if my growth is only one day. It takes forever to shave if I have two days of growth.

As for shaving cream, believe me, i have tried them all. The normal offerings are so-so for me. If you really want a great shaving lubricant, try this.

In every mall in America there is a store called the Body Shop. I only know it becuase my wife shops there. She brought home a tube of shaving "cream" that is slicker than snot on a wet doorknob. It provides the best shave I have ever had. It also works with the wet/dry electrics.
