ABS Brake Failure Warning light
Installed new battery and now the general brake failure warning light is flashing. Did I read somewhere that some sort of re-setting needs to be done after disconnecting the battery?

ABS reset
I have a R1150R (year2001) with an ABS problem. The ABS doesen't work, the control light is flashing and I hear a ticking sound. I think ABS system unit must be reset. How can I reset it?
Thank you for help. Have a nice day and sorry for my english.
Ps: the Jamais's idea doesn't work on my bike...

szeepezoli, Are you sure that your battery is fully charged? The abs is very sensitve to voltage.
First question, do you have brakes operating other than the abs malfuntion? If you do, carefully ride the bike allowing the battery to charge, say maybe 15 minutes. Shut down the engine, and restart being sure that the abs does a complete self-test prior to starting. The abs flashing light will probably extinguish normally after you start rolling again.
One other thing, when the bike does its self-test, the brakes cannot be actuated-don't engage them! I have heard of brake switches being engaged even if the brake levers aren't being used. This is caused by a faulty switch or, particularly regarding the rear brake switch, road debris fouling the switch causing it to close resulting in abs problems.
If the abs worked normally before a battery change, then its highly unlikely that the system has a failure other than something related to this battery change.

I bought the bike with ABS failure, and a bad battery. I changed the battery it is fully new and charged. I mensured the break switches and sensors, they are OK. I try to reset the Motronic computer. If I must repleace the ABS unit , how can I be sure that is wrong? Or what else can I try?
The general led is OFF and the ABS led is FLASHING on 4Hz (fast)
I'm looking for electrical circuit diagrams for R1150R (I have for GS)

Hook it up
I have had ABS light issues like this after letting a non BMW mech bleed the brakes. All you can do is get it to the dealer to have it connected to the MoDiTec system to have the system reset. Any faults will be diagnosed at the same time.
They should do it for nothing if there is no fault present

ABS Failure Light
The ABS light flashing at the 4 Hz rate indicates low fluid level in the control unit. I have gotten it twice usually when parking on the sidestand on a uphill grade (front wheel high). I had the dealer check it out at the 6,000 mi service, no problems found fluild level within spec.
