I thought I would introduce myself. I just joined tonight although I've had my bike for about 3 weeks. I found the site through BMW Owners of America site. I have an '05 R1150R Grey with Tan Seat. No modifications yet or additions yet. It came with bags and a Givi short windshield. It only has 450 miles so far so I am still in the break in period and hoping to get to the 600 mark very soon. The weather has been great, but my time has been limited. I am enjoying the site and learning a lot. I live in Texas. I'm just enjoying the entertainment on the board.

How far are you from college station. My youngest is in engineering school down there. She tells me that college station gets more rainy days in a year than Seattle.
I have had my r1150r for almost a year and have no problems except for one of the o rings on the fuel tank springing a leak. You may want them to check that when you take it in for the 600 mile check

I'm about 45 miles from College Station. We do get a lot of rain most years, but this year we are way below average. Sunday the temp. was 82. Today it was about 75 and humidity was only 46% which is incredible for this area. Normally, it's about 90%!!!! Thanks for the advice for the 600 mile check up. I will ask about that.

Kristi, welcome. Even though I live in WA state, I do know where Tomball is. I have actually been there. I even know some people that live there. My sister lives in Kingwood, I grew up in LA, only moved up here about 2 years ago. You will find tons and tons of useful and not so useful
info on this site. Also, you will no doubt have many miles of fun. Enjoy!

Welcome
Be at rest! You've found the Internet's only site dedicated to the R1150R and it's dysfunctional owners!

BMW's in Houston

"Hey Kristi. I would guess we're about 10-15 miles apart. I live in The Woodlands on the Western side. I had a 02 R but now If you see a dark blue RT (04) it may be me. Holler if you get a ride going."
I did see some (maybe 3) BMW's riding on 1488 last weekend. They were in the right turn lane and I was in the left with cars between us, so I didn't get a chance to speak to them. Made me wonder if there was a BMW group here in Houston. I don't think I saw a dark blue RT though. I ride a grey R1150R with a tan seat. I haven't seen another tan seat on a bike around here, so if you see one, it is probably me. I'll watch for you
