Paint Repair

Post by houndog »

Can someone please help me? I am at my end! :x I have some slight scratches on the black part of my "Green Hornet" and I want to touch it up. I have touched up paint on cars before (allways shiney paint), but I am unsure as to what type of paint to buy and If there will be any special skills needed to make it look good. I am unfamiliar with flat colors. I was just going to use a sharpie to color it in, but my wife thinks this is a bad idea. Please help all you Gurus of Rockster knowledge.
Appreciatively yours,
Tommy

Hello Tommy
that is to be repaired difficultly Matt black of your Rockster.
The color Silk-weakly Black. With the paintbrush or similar we it hard and one the repair place sees.
To site foremen also does not go because, otherwise, everything becomes shining. Best of all one varnishes the section.
You would have the same problem, however, also with a metallic varnish.
Gruß ( Greetings) Michael

There are many different shades of matte black. I spraypainted my entire bike matte black, after removing the decalls. What worked for me: I took off a matte black piece and paid the local bodyshop a visit. They were able to fill a rattlecan with matte black that matched the original colour perfectly. I still have one can left, BUT....
The matte black on my 2003 was different from the matteblack used on a buddy's 2005 ...! So best take off a piece of bodywork and have the colour made for you. Good luck!
