My next bike! Never seen Ducati.

Post by hrothgar02 »

My devotion to my Rockster is strong but when something this awesome comes along, you do a double take! I got the images from a bike collector friend who is in the Ducati owners group. Theses photos were just released 2 days ago to this group; I promised you haven't seen anything like this before.

Saw the real thing yesterday in Milan. It is a STUNNING bike, albeit still a prototype. I am a Ducati fan, as a matter of fact I own a tricked out Monster apart from the Rockster. Will post pics later.

That is an absolutely gorgeous bike and the Desmo engine in that cassis should really make it fly!!! Thanks for the photo.

Yeah, that new Duke sure looks good. When I was shopping for the Rockster the other bike I could have ended up with was the S2R -- but it was only an 800, and they hadn't yet announced the 1000cc version of the same bike (pretty obvious really -- the 800cc S2R is selling well by taking sales away from the regular Monster 1000). But every time I hear a Duke go by with those horrible rattly clutches, I think I probably made the right choice.

But ... one of the local magazines here, Two Wheels, has a test ride and a good photo spread of the new Moto Guzzi Griso in its latest issue. Now, there's a motorcycle that looks like a direct challenger to the rockster on just about every count. Seems like it's due on showroom floors soon (even down here at the bottom of the world).

Check this out:

This Hypermotard is absolutely stunning and sure will looks great next to my Rockster. Heck, I hope they'll come out soon otherwise, I'll just get an equally stunning supermoto, the KTM SM950. Maybe I should just get the SM950 because it's really tough-built and I can abuse it hard. I don't think the Ducati would love me at all. Dunno if it's that tough ... well ... unless it's stronger than the Multistrada then okay, I can wait.... augh... I am confused.... somebody shoot me! NOW! Augh!

I got an email today from the local Italian shop saying they were taking deposits. Said they expected it as a 2007 model, but did not have delivery dates.
