Today I reved it past 12,000 RPM...

Post by DJ Downunder »

A couple of months back I posted about Powerballs... http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=3460 ...well I ended up getting one.

When I first got it I was only able to rev it to about 7-8,000 RPM...and over the weeks I've worked my way up to 11,500 RPM...
the past few weeks I've been trying to break the 12,000 barrier...today I did it..wah-hoo!.. \:D/

I now have many friends hooked on these things..they're so addictive..the world record is now over 16,000 RPM...sheesh..
that's more than 250 revolutions per second..

I've just found out there's a new metal ball coming next year that will rev well over 20,000 RPM...geees that's screaming...and you'd need arms like Popeye.. :D

How in God's name did I miss your prior thread????

I need to know more, oh.... maybe you just posted a link.... gotta go back & check out your other link......

But all lit up like that, and with a digital rpm readout!?!?!?!?!??!
I WANT ONE!

I had one over 15 years ago, between that and a spring-grip thingy..... my arms became little Popeye arms! My Gyro was very prone to being dropped by my buddies, it eventually broke. You started it up by yanking on a string to get the rpm's up, but when THAT broke, I pushed the ball on a surface in an attempt to get it up to speed.

WOW! I hope you've got a link, and hope they're not to expensive.

Pat check out this little vid from a recent launch in London.. http://www.powerballs.com/hamleys.wmv

At the moment there's three models to choose from...

Standard 250 Hz Pro...the cheapest and fastest.

Neon Pro......(Blue with blue lights...blue with green lights...orange with red lights)

Techno....fancy shmancy...and a bit gimicky..also a bit hard to read the speed (writen in lights)

I'd go for the Neon Pro..(btw 'Pro' means it has a rev counter)..you can get them without it..but we need to know RPM's.. :D..(soon it will have blue tooth)

I can just flick start mine now with my thumb without having to use the string.

The way they light up looks very cool..here's another pic of mine.
