Well, she's holding the glass by the stem, but somehow I still think that beer is going to warm up pretty fast :smt023

I hate to do this, but the image in the base post is just a little over the line for the r1150r.smugmug site.

"The smugmug thing is for all paid members of the board. I'm covering the charges, which are really minimal in the grand scheme of things.

You may upload as many pictures are you wish. The only thing I ask is that anything that is over the line in nudity, pornography, etc. not be uploaded. Sort of like the Advrider image rules."

I agree with Arkline. Out of respect for our women members, keep the frat boy stuff on your hard drive...

I agree, lets keep happytime and obviously offensive material off the site.

Remember that this is a family site (!) and we have some women viewers that will all think the actual male posting the image is ....well... stupid. :)

I'm with ya' Boxermania.
Once you start censoring, where do you stop?
What really is "offensive"?
Boobs to some.
A fetus' tiny hand to others.
Pictures of Bush-Chaney- Rumsfeld-Rice are highly offensive to me.
Where do you start, where do you end?
Have any of the women complained?
We're always looking for easy solutions and there aren't any...

DJ, expanding on your post.......Let's see it goes something like this......

Dad, to young son or daughter, hey, come with me let's look at the R1150R thread and see what those wild and crazy guys are posting in "Off Topic" ....hmmm, I wonder why is it called Off-Topic ........Oh My God large female appendajes, this is definitely not suitable for you small children.......and so it goes. Shame on you parent, if you had been there before you should have known what gets posted there, if you haven't wouldn't you think to go there first and check it out!!!

Off course we also have Pat's playhouse, but that thread came to be because of the agitated and personal attacks as a result of discussions involving politics and religion, guess where.....in the Off-Topic thread.......
Non-R1150R or even bike related stuff goes in here. However, DO NOT post ANY messages that are related to politics or religion in here. They will be erased. Thanks!
The above provides direction as to what to post on the thread.....and now to my public service announcement.

We are traversing a time in the history of this nation, where political correctness has been engrained so much into our daily activities by our great goverment, that some people feel empowered to decide and vote on our rights as citicens based on their own personal perspective. I find this behaivior offensive and short sighted. Until proven otherwise I consider everyone, specially those that frequent this site, to be educated and intelligent individuals very much capable of making decissions on their own behalf without any outside assitance.

On the other hand if the rules of the game have been established and made known to everyone participating the overseers certainly have the duty to enforce those at their discretion. Unfortunately we are intelligent enough to know that in reality we can't do that.....I'll explain below.

May I sugest that the thread be renamed "Not Ofensive to Anyone" and see how many posts we get.....I'll be the first post......78 Degrees in Baton Rouge today

Last but not least if you find the material offensive don't look at it, that's what I do, no one asked you too do so. So enter at your own risk..... :idea

Whoa, there big fella. I removed the photo because it was on the r1150r.smugmug.com site. I removed it because I have asked all along that r1150r.smugmug.com site be open to a) only paying members of the board and b) not host nudity or pornography - mostly because it is a motorcycle site, but also because I don't want something I am covering to devolve into something I wouldn't be proud of. I ginned up the smugmug site when the previous image site just upped and disappeared, taking a bunch of really good photography with it. I'm happy to keep providing the site to members of the 1150R board for as long as I can, but only with those two restrictions.

Doug has rules about what is appropriate for the board also. He's been pretty flexible about what he is willing to host as far as I'm concerned, but it should be recognized that at some point the style and content of the board reflect back on the owner. So, Doug has his rules. So does the smugmug site (and not many, at that).

The image issue is easily resolved. Find a free or pay service to host your own images. Then you will have the freedom and complete control over what you are willing to put up and link to.
