Condolences to Vann

Post by yjleesvrr »

Vann - not to raise a sore point, but how the heck did your Wolfpack lose to the Tarheels?!? With VA Tech's smackdown of GA Tech 51 - 7, I was enjoying my day until I saw the score of the UNC - NC State game. If there is one football team in the ACC I root against no matter who they're playing, it's UNC. Strangely, I don't feel the same way when it comes to their basketball team.

Anyway, my condolences to you and the NC State fanbase. I think your team has the potential to do much better.

Don't ask me how we lost! :x How is this the same team that hung with you guys and could have won, then get whupped by the pale blue boys? It ruined my weekend!

We had better get things turned around for the rest of the season but that won't help with the crap I will hear from Carolina fans for a whole year!

I was in dingle's Sporting Goods and they had the VT-GT game on the big screen and I saw the two consecutive interception returns for touchdowns. Wow!

Congrats on the win and good luck with the season.

Hey - do you know anyone in the bio medical engineering field? My son is interested and both NCS and VT have programs. VT with Bowman Gray hospital and NCSU with Chapel Hill. (ugh!)

Yong,
Are you gonna go to Morgantown to watch the Hokies?

Vann, losing to UNC is like losing to Indiana in Big Ten Country.

Vann - I can't say I know anyone in the biomed field right now. I had an old roommate 16 years ago who eventually went on to get his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins, but I haven't spoken to him in over a decade. I also took Statics with Dr. Dan Schneck in the Engineering Science and Mechanics department back in '87, but I highly doubt he would remember me. Dr. Schneck is a M.D. as well as a biomed engineer. Do you need to make contact with someone? If you need me to talk to someone at the university, let me know. While I'm not faculty, the fact that I'm a business owner in the area makes it a little easier to open doors when the need to meet people arise.

Jeff - No, I'm staying out of Morgantown. Mountaineer fans are well know for being crazy. Imagine Camfarm half drunk and foaming at the mouth and you get a good idea of what Hokies fans face this upcoming Saturday

They have a reputation for vandalizing opponent team fans' cars and otherwise acting a bit beligerant. With Tech's defection out of the Big East and our victory last year in Lane Stadium, I doubt the Mountaineer fans will be in the most welcoming of moods.

I don't think we need any contact person yet. There is a kid there in engineering that graduated with my oldest last year and his dad said he would be glad to serve as a guide for a weekend visit. He cautioned not to plan it on a football weekend and I certainly knew better than that!

They vandalize their own cars, too. Nothing like a street full of burning couches.
