Dust to Glory

In canse anyone missed it (in the U.S., anyway) Dust to Glorywas released yesterday. I just got done watching it, and wow! Almost makes me want to go dirt riding.

This DVD is like the off-road version of Faster- it's worth adding to the collection.

I ordered D2G just last week from Amazon.....I can't wait....it should be a ripper!...

So, for the first time in years, I'm sicker'n a dog. Some nasty bronchial flu thing that just won't let go. And what happens to make this almost bearable...

Dust to Glory shows up from NetFlix. Wahoo! What a great vid. I always enjoy watching single-minded berzerkers do something I wouldn't even consider possible. What a great and dedicated bunch of racers. The video shows this race from all angles, up in a helicopter, alongside the route, inside the cars and trucks, on board the bikes. Absolutely marvelous. My wife, who rides, and I were watching a piece shot from a bike, where the bike runs wide in a turn and ends up in a grooved ditch. Both of us said "Sh!t" simultaneously. Talk about your edge traps...

Mouse McCoy is an amazing rider. And the spirit of cameraderie amongst the racers (when not actually in the race) is great.

I give it several thumbs up. Though I am not worthy.

Is there anything comparable in Australia? I would imagine that there is a lot of territory down there that would be perfect for such a race. And a sufficient number of motocrazies...

I'm surprised there's not a Mad Max rallye or such. Those Postie bikes look stalwart, but not the thing to do serious tearing across the Outback. Hope you get D2G soon. I'm probably going to have to buy it to add to the collection.

You Bloody Ripper!!!..

...I just got my D2G in the mail.

I was about to head off to work but I thought...just a peek.

Ten minutes later I had a grin from ear to ear..sitting on the edge of my seat and having to remind myself to breath...wow...what a movie.

Those guys are crazy...and I love it...what an eye-opener to what the Baja 1000 is all about.

Anyone into dirt bikes (or not)...this is a must see movie...and I've only watched 10 minutes.

I would loved to have seen it on the big screen (the cinema)...gotta go..I'm late for work.

I was going to but they had a very limited release in the U.S., originally it was supposed to come to one theater in the Washingont area but it never showed up. I ended up taking the DVD to work to watch (ssshhhhhhh - don't tell anyone). Then I came home and watched it on my 'big screen'.

I got home from work...got myself all cumfee on the beanbag..headphones on...volume way up and watched the rest of D2G.

Wow wot a movie....I don't think I blinked for the whole movie....
Bruce Brown who made 'Endless Summer' and 'On Any Sunday' would be very proud of his son making this movie.

I found myself laughing out loud at the sight of those big 'Trophy Trucks' taking the first corner of the race...
The way they give each other a little 'Liberarchie' or love tap from behind to let them know they're right there and want to pass....wot a hoot.

The camera work is just briliant...I'm looking forward to watching it again...
This movie will give you the biggest adrenalin rush..and you won't even need to leave the couch..

I went to watch it with a bunch of GS guys in the city (San Francisco) - what a fantastic film!

The part that amazed me the most was the casual way the spectators cross the intended route of the racers. Hokey smokes, WoolBinkle! That and the federales having their little speed trap...

Yes, Bruce Brown should be proud of his son. I hope this isn't one of those singular productions where you have to wait and wait before another comes out. Somebody should fund him to do the Dakar...
