Hi Rooster,

I removed the abs completely on my 2003 E80 Rockster as I just did not trust or like the way it worked although it functioned exactly as it should.

Total cost was $7.00 to get a short "U" shaped brakeline to bridge the loop that used to go to and from the abs unit.

The rear sensor was left in place as i found jthat the speedo calculates from the rotation of the perforated ring.

I enjoy the bike very much now and braking performance is just as good and I am able to properly modulate braking pressure on both front and rear much better than before.

It is a basic job for those of us with moderate mechanical ability and I would definitely encourage you to do it.

If you decide against it I have a fully functional abs unit available.
