Anyone have a CCP plug that they don't want/need anymore? I'm doing an experiment with my bike and the R259 Techlusion and need one if somebody here has one that they don't mind parting with.

My bike came with no CCP, and I have the R259 installed w/ the settings WAY lower than recommended.
Still tweaking, but my (very slight) surge is almost gone completely....

I'm trying to fix surge! Why I mucked with my bike I don't know...I didn't have surging problems to begin with, and I've had my bike since July 2001! I bought Rivi777's Techlusion when he sold his R. After I installed the R259 I started having surging problems. I've been communicating with the people at Techlusion, and they suggest putting the CCP back in the bike. My bike never had a CCP as far as I can tell. If I can't get this right, I'm taking out the R259 and selling it!

Mark - The CCP is just a pair of spade connectors between a short wire. You can make one up and play around all you like. The coloured CCP 'box' is just a plastic cover. All you need is the pin numbers (that I can't remember at the moment). Also, the CCP is only one feature that relates to surging. Others are valve clearances (minor), TB synch (major) and potential air leaks (possibly major), as well as the balance tube between the TBs that some of us now run. Mick.

You can make a jumper to duplicate exactly the CCP's function. Use a two inch wire with a male flat spade terminal on each end that you'll plug into the bike's number 30 and number 87 terminals in the CCP socket. Use your MaGoo reading glasses (I have a pair too) and a bright light to read the embossed numbers inside the socket. Then remove/replace the number 5 fuse and with the key AND KILLSWITCH on, motor not running, roll gently to full throttle stop then idle stop twice to reset the Motronic memory.
My CCP is in place for the better fuel mileage - - - even though it surges a tiny bit.
