boxermania should be ok, he is in Baton Rouge, about 90 miles from New Orleans. That is where a lot of the New Orleans mayoral staff went to get a break before returning. The fellow members along the gulf coast, another story. Still no electricity from BR-Mobile for the most part, or phone or cell phone, or water, etc.
I have been following this closely, since I am a New Orleans native and have many friends and family still there, all caught up in the chaos. I haven't lived there for about a year and a half, but have not forgeten what it is like to go through this. And, yes I have. Haven't heard from many of them, either.
Everyone along the gulf coast has my prayers daily.

I am north of the Gulf a couple of hundred miles near Jackson, MS. We didn't take a direct hit, but still only got power back the other day (some that I work with still don't have power).
There are long lines for gas and the shelves are getting bare at the grocery stores. All of that should clear up in a few days.
