Any one using Mann MW75 oil filter?

Post by ammolab »

Issues? Failures. Success? I have used a few with no complaints, but I bet my dealer scolds me when he pulls one off my bike today.

How many input holes on the Mahle around the center spigot?.... The Mann only has 4..I think the BMW/Mahle has more, no? Seems enough as I have used several of the Manns so far!

This a good chart with specs for r1200r oil filters:

Why use a non BMW filter?? Is it an availability issue or a price issue? Just wondering. :-k

As I know Mahle/Knecht producing oil and air filters for BMW only they putting onto filters BMW name and sign.Ther is no difference in filter material and filter parts.Completelly the same.Sometimes these filters are available for lover price than those carring BMW name, sign and parts no.I bought 6 filters here in Canada for 12$CAN each.At the dealership BMW name filter is 23$CAN.

Many Mann filters are US made now, do not use them....the MW 75 filter is made in Germany. I live 200 miles from a dealer so I ordered these for less than 8 bucks. No reason to believe that these are less quality than OEM. MY k75C has gone 144,000 miles on Mann Filters.

I have always run BMW filters, but is there something particularly bad about US made Mann filters?

The white USA Manns are Purelator made and equal to the $3.88 Classic Purelator filters at Walmart. While the classics may be worth 4 bucks...I will not pay more for a USA Mann.

My BMW auto mechanic uses and recommends Mann filters. If I could be convinced it had the right characteristics I would use one gladly.
