Just did the valves, coming on 24k and want to replace the plugs. Will they come out with intact valve covers?
Thanks
John
Can the plugs be replaced without removing valve covers?

Re: Can the plugs be replaced without removing valve covers?
I've opted to stay with the NKG plugs that BMW specs. While there are crossover plugs listed for that plug, it's the same plug my BMW M-Coupe (S54 engine) uses, so I could almost buy them in bulk. Dealer price was $15 - 15% (0pen-House discount) this past Saturday which is about as good as I could find them on line. I feel every 32k miles is a good change interval for them (and the alternator belt.) I'm doing my 64k service this week.

On 2012 cam heads ther is no alternative for spark plugs. At least I could not find any alternatives.Only one is NGK MAR8B-JDS.I am fare from spark plugs replacement, but I am allready searching for parts,to enshure to have tham when I need it.Don Eilenberg's syndrome?? Yes!!I like that way of thinking!!I shold not be confused when Ineed them.

Re: Can the plugs be replaced without removing valve covers?
well, there may not be much of an alternative. Other than Denso I find no other alts.
There are two NGKs it appears that can be used: a single pole and a double pole. there is some anecdotal reporting that the single poles "perform better."
I ordered those from amazon for $9+ per.
On another note I've had good luck in the past with non OEM parts in general, but in this case it appears going OEM is the most practical course.
