2013 R1200R 90th years
Hello,
What are your thoughts on the new 90th year version of the R1200R, no real performance enhancements but some nice visual bits of shinny parts.

I currently have a Blue 2013 on order for delivery in early January. I am considering changing it to be the special edition scheme. What do you think?

Stick with the Montego. You'll get plenty of looks without the bling.

The black engine is pretty, but my black K75 engine turned grey pretty fast and I have had to repaint it. Personally I would wait for the wet head motor.

Very nice bike - except for the ugly exhaust. And shiny parts are not new. Photos of my R1200S taken yesterday ...

Thanks for the photos and comments...
I really enjoy the Montego Blue color, but the nifty flavor of a 90th Anniversary model and the timing of it (with mine being on order from the factory). I have hesitation with the BLACK in Arizona (heat) and nighttime riding visibility? I do enjoy the silver colored engines that are posted in other threads from previous MYs.

What I want is the magic centerstand used in those photos.. be great, never have to lift the bike onto it, just stop and get off..

Hi Don,
Photoshop would be your friend! My wife is working in post-production and she removes such unwanted objects from such nice photos ....

Hi Steve
I am in Australia and popped in to the dealer yesterday to have a chat about prices etc. it is only 500+ or so more dollars for the 90th anniversary edition. I am seriously considering this bike with extra bits.
Given the choice I think the gold bits would look better on the blue bike but it looks like it only comes in black!

Hello Australia,
They are telling me $395 here in the US for the 90th anniversary model. I probably going to stick with the blue... I think it looks great, 5 or 6 more weeks for delivery.

Saw all three models at the UK motorcycle show yesterday. Generating a lot of interest, & IMHO they looked lovely RT ? 1200R ? Both.........?
So tempting.

Re: 2013 R1200R 90th years
I just ordered the anniversary edition a couple days ago. It's my first R1200R; current bike is a 2010 F650GS. I pretty much ordered all the options except the chrome exhaust, thinking that it might stick out a little too much. I'm having the Verholen bar risers put on, as well as some Wunderlich crash bars and adjustable levers. I'll post pictures as soon as I take delivery
