Handle bar torque

I have just bought a near new 2012 1200RT and want to remove the handlebar risers installed by the original owner.
Question 1 - What is the torque I need to use when I reinstall the handle bars?
Question 2 - Where could I get a manual (paper or digital) for the 2012 RT?

Hello Ian,

1) Torque for fixing the handle bar on upper fork bridge = 19 NM

2) Which manual do you mean? The repair manual? Go see your stealer and buy the RepRom. The riders manual? Go here http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/us/en/index.html, click "service & maintenance", click "riders manual", select your model, download the manual.

Easy isn't it?

Looks like the Haynes manuals only go through 2010. http://www.haynes.com/products/sfID1/8/sfID2/9/sfID3/14

I have only just moved from an 1150RT to a 1200 and will now be spending most of my time at this forum.
It's reassuring to find that the folk who live here are just as helpful as the 1150 mob and indeed some contribute to both.

Soon after beginning this thread I received an email from Nippy Normans advising of their 'special' on Haynes manuals including one for the camhead 1200s. Anyone interested should look at http://www.nippynormans.com/products/bo ... n-hay-4925

I followed omg1010's links and downloaded a PDF copy of the Riders Manual which I then emailed to myself so that I now have a copy on my mobile phone to have with me on trips rather than having to carry the hard copy.
