Comfortable perch

Now you see it (it being a BMW standard height sport seat).....

Now, you don't!

Customised to my own specification - Gel pads added to both seats, faux leather cover with white piping. Much less pronounced shape than the BMW comfort seat which I hated and the whole thing was done for £210 including postage by Tony Archer in Huddersfield.

Custom saddle, first thing I do to a bike. Not sure why BMW calls this the Comfort Seat. I was surprised to learn that here recently. Mine is long gone and reinvented as a Bill Mayer leather clad custom. Heavenly.

Actually - the one shown in the top photo was the Uncomfort seat.. the parts catalog listed what the current seat now is as "Comfort Seat" - and the older one as shown in the photo as simply "Seat, low, medium, high" So we sorta nicknamed it the Uncomfort Seat..

Oddly enough I preferred the sport seat to the "Comfort" seat that came with the bike so my dealer kindly did a foc swap for me. I think the tag "Uncomfort seat" is spot on after about an hour. I haven't ridden the modifies seat yet but just sitting on that gel pad, I know it's going to be miles better!

Having both the "uncomfort" seat on my '09 (made acceptable to one of limited farkle budget with an AirHawk) and the std height "comfort" seat on my wife's '12, the "comfort" seat is much better. However, we could use the "high comfort" seat (anyone want to trade?) as it is a bit cramped for longer legged riders. Have ridden both for several fill-up to fill-up rides (including cross country on the '09) and I guess you can get used to anything :)
