Remus Hexacone Titanium

Post by slowtorque »

Some of you may be familiar with my recent struggles fitting a REMUS y-pipe onto my R1150R and retaining the System Cases. In the end, it was determined that the jig REMUS uses to fabricate this pipe must now be "tweaked" (fell of the shelf?) a bit because I just could not get it to work out. MotoMax, a REMUS distributor, was very attentive to the problems I was having and even expressed me a second pipe thinking perhaps the first one was defective. No such luck. I eventually kept the first pipe, returned the second, bought a lowering kit, and now am quite happy with the y-pipe and the stock can. Nice to be rid of the massive catalytic converter. I was even able to use a full-size left System Case with this set-up and can say now that I would never go back.

As I was saying, Patrick at MotoMax was very good to deal with. After I had it all sorted out, he emailed me and offered to extend a 15% discount and free express shipping on any REMUS system I might want for my other bikes. Not wanting to pass that up, I decided to outfit my R12R with a REMUS Hexacone full system as I love the bike but would really like to be able to hear the engine. As you know, the stock exhaust is whisper quiet. So, I just received the system last nite and hope to install it this weekend. Sure is a beautiful piece of work. Will let you all know how I like it.

I have a Remus Hexacone carbon fiber muffler on my R1200R. It sounds awesome, I love it. It's the Goldilocks muffler. Not too loud, not too quiet, but just right.

I've now been waiting 5 weeks for my titanium Hexacone can. The supplier has the can but Remus don't have any 2012 R12 link pipes in stock so they have to make it. Hopefully I'll have the goodies next Friday (end of week 6). My supplier is doing a good job of keeping me informed and when I jokingly said Remus should compensate me with some discount, he went right ahead and negotiated that with Remus for me :D

A shout out for Motorworks in Holmfirth =D>
