Somehow I lost the little gasket for my oil filler cap. I purchased a new one at the dearship but it seems awfully thick to me. This is a rubber o-ring type of gasket. It is the one shown in the micro-fiche but it still seems thick to me. What is yours like?

Re: Oil Filler Gasket
Thick Rubber o-ring in my valve cover for the oil cap. Remains in the valve cover... not on the plastic cap.
Is yours still there? Did it fall into the valve cover?

Re: Oil Filler Gasket
Mine is black, but the color is meaningless as long as the material is oil, fuel, and heat resistant. As mentioned in the reply above it goes into the filler opening. The ring's OD is the same as the filler opening's. The thickness looks to be around 1/8".celticus wrote:What color is your gasket?

You would need to work hard to get it to go into the engine.
