Corbins

My wife and I have 4 Corbin seats on our bikes, including a seat like yours on my R12R. You may have heard that they take awhile to break-in; I have found this to be true. It can take as much as 2000 miles for the seat to adjust to you. Corbin tends to use a stiffer foam than most, although I read somewhere that they have gone to a softer foam recently. If that is true, then the newer seats may react differently. I like my R12R Corbin a great deal.

With all the horror tales about Corbin seats on this list I was extremely hesitant to plunk my money down for one of their seats, but I really liked the way the seat looks on the bike (especially with the luggage rack).
Bought the seat about 30K ago and never a regret.

A little fooling around with the latch and the seat was a little stiff, it was the most comfortable about one inch forward of where I wanted to sit so I kept forcing myself back and sure enough after a few hundred miles the sweet spot moved to exactly where I wanted it. I've done a bunch of twelve hour days and two eighteen hour runs and my butt was never the reason I got off. Usually it was falling asleep especially on the long runs which in retrospect was really stupid but both were on the way home.

Hmmm. I don't know how his became a new thread. I was trying to respond to stanh's post on another thread in which he shows his new Corbin (Mail order "custom" seat?).... guess I pushed the wrong button.
