Gel Grips?

Will the heating elements destroy gel grips? I like the cheap and comfortable 714 grips from Pro Grip. They're gel. I read here that it doesn't work well, but it's just one post. Any other experiences?

We had an extra pair of these laying around (in purple, but don't tell anyone). However, after reading about what it takes to remove grips in the context of the heating elements, I thought better of the attempt. So many things on BMWs are more complex than I'm used to. Always trade offs I suppose.

I'd just go with grip puppies if I were you, cheap, easy install and very comfortable.

I actually have grip puppies on the bike now. They are good. I just like the size and feel of the gel grips a bit better.
