Re: Rockster Handlebars to far away
I'm away from home for the next couple of days - but will take a couple of pics of the GS bar set-up. Only issue might be that I haven't the faintest idea how to upload pics onto this sitesweatmark wrote:OK guys - we need pics of the GS and Pro Taper bars on your Rocksters! Your info and descriptions are great, but a picture is worth...

Re: Rockster Handlebars to far away
Sorry Sweatmark! Looked to try and figure out how to upload an image of the bike with the GS 'bars..... but I haven't ANY idea how! The reply box doesn't have a 'button' to attach images or anything that I can see.
I know it's possible as there are plenty of posts with pics..... but it doesn't seem to be obvious how to do it.
Am I just thick - or is it really not intuitive or obvious to attach images to posts?

Post the pic into a flickr or photobox account, then use the "img" forum tags to embed it.
Re: Rockster Handlebars to far away
I was going to post a reference to a whole thread about attaching images... But I see it's in the donating members' section.

Re: Rockster Handlebars to far away
Ok.....
Here goes an attempt to post pics. I haven't had chance to take specific ones yet, but here's ones taken on a recent tour, and (if this works) an earlier pic of the bike with std bars and bar raisers (and a previous flyscreen). I will try to take ones of just the handlebar area and post if anyone would like this.
At the moment there's also an experiment in progress with a larger screen off an '01 - '05 FJR1300, mounted on my Vario screen handlebar mount kit - so that'd appear in any current pics.
I've tried copying the URL in between the Img icons after loading them on-line. But all I got was "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image" at the top of the screen and the post wouldn't errrr.......... post. So I reduced the size of the pics in case it was that, and tried again. Nope - same thing.
Maybe I'm still being a bit thick.
So, here's the URL's without the [img] things either side. Maybe anyone intersted can paste them into a browser and see them that way.

Here's your before and after (or "after and before") windshield change:

Re: Rockster Handlebars to far away
SM - sorry, but I don't understand your last post, and the 2 'image not available' boxes?
I've tried the hyperlinks from here on my previous post, and they seem to work and take you to my folder on photobox. I assume from that fact that others can also access the pics?
If they can be viewed, then I suppose the most obvious way to tell the bar height difference is the distance between the front indicators and the hand-guards, also you can see that the bars have much more clearance above the fuel tank. I mentioned the screen change as the fact there's a screen change as well as the bar change in the pics possibly makes it harder to appreciate the altered bar position.

GRW- don't know how your photo file service works, but it's evidently unlike others commonly used. For the post above, I followed link to your album, discovered image attributes for the pics via right-clicking, then pasted the file locations into my post within an "IMG" HTML tag set. The pics showed when I reloaded this thread a couple times with memory cache dump in between. Whatever.
You can always send one of your pics via email, and we'll upload to a hosting service and link within a post here.
Important thing is the link to your album. A couple of images of the handlebar from rear of bike would be helpful.

Will take a couple of pics as soon as I get the chance and will email them SM as you suggest.
I did just try the links myself and they did work - I confess I have no idea what's going on
!
Sorry to be causing so much hassle over a set of handlebars

Well done Rog!
Boy, now I really do feel really thick cos I couldn't post em!
Now that they are up there (will take riders eye view ones as soon as I can) - any thoughts?

Re: Rockster Handlebars to far away
Welcome to the club! We've all been there (and most of us still are!), but we've been members a little longer, so we have learned the essential technique of posting pictures. In a similar vein, I remember someone on the Australian Moto Guzzi forum saying that there are no stupid questions; only stupid answers. Now, I'm all for a bit of frivolity and so are most of the members here, so we do get frivolous comments which make for a bit of fun, but I don't think you will be denigrated for not knowing something. Members will help.Boy, now I really do feel really thick
Having said all that, I fully expect the pics to disappear overnight, because I certainly saw Mark's attached photos last evening.
All the best,
Rog

SM - yep, well I can see them, so your photobucket ones seem to do the trick!
I'll try again (and email them just in case) when I take the riders eye view pics of the 'bars (and my FJR/Vario mount screen marriage which is decidedly 'experimental' at this stage).
Thanks guys for your help and support!
G.

Ok guys. New pics done, so here goes to try and post them.....
If it doesn't work, and anyone's interested - send me a PM with an email address and I'll send them through that way.
(I didn't think I was a total luddite, but it's starting to look like I am
)

Hang on..... I think this may have worked

I think photobox is not liking the external linking to the photos - I'm just seeing the "image not available" default gif.
Maybe we need to be logged in to photobox to see them? (I don't have an account).
TBH, I'd recommend swapping to a Flickr account, it's faster too.
