Can't get the seat off..any suggestions?

I stopped to get the tool kit out today to retighten the mirrors for the 5th time in two months--and will buy locktite soon! However I must have put the seat on wrong and now I can't get it off as hard as I try. The front of the seat is not "seated" 100% --it wobbles a tad, but I put the key in the back and twist and twist but the seat won't come free. Any suggestions/advice?

The latch hook moves towards the back of the bike to release the hook from the slot in the seat pan. Try pushing the seat down and forward, then while pushing, turn the key and see if it releases.

huh i have had this happen when i put waterproofs in the tool tray , its a bit of a fiddle to sort out , as dbrick said push down on the seat and rock it about and suddenly it will come undone , best to use another pair of hands to help ,its easier and less chance of snapping key off in lock , should undo easy if enough pressure on seat .
after this happened to me i used silicone grease on the mounting lugs and holes and catch .

The key requires almost no pressure to put the latch in the open position, so don't force it (it could be expensive). The guys with Corbin seats (like me) usually encounter this problem when the seat is new. A moderate downward force on the seat and a sharp smack forward while lifting up on the rear of the seat has always done the trick.

Thanks all..problem solved with the help of a friend doing the pushing and me on the key side.
