Battery Going?

Most automotive and motorcycle charging systems work by supplying a "float" voltage of around 14 volts. Since lead acid batteries produce 12 to 12.5 volts, this allows a constant charge of the battery. A constant charge on a lead acid battery will not hurt it as long as it is a slow charge. Lithium batteries do not like to be overcharged AT ALL. That is why appliances and tools with lithium batteries have a smart charger that shuts off when the battery is full. If you use a standard dumb charger on a lithium device, you may burn down your house. Phones and laptops have the charge controller built-in. Also, lithium batteries tend to explode when shorted. I don't what Shoria does to protect from this. I have personally seen a dime sized battery go off like a firecracker.

I think lithium batteries are great, but I am just pointing out they have to be cared for differently.
