Lower pegs

Took a very short ride on my Roadster...going to invest in a Laminar Lip,.had one on a cruiser & it worked very well. I like an open face helmet in warm weather.

About the pegs? They are high for my legs & would like to lower them, found a set of GS pegs & mounts,decent price.

Question, do I need the longer / lower, brake & shift levers? or can the orig. be used? The guy at Beemer Boneyard was not sure.

Ron, if you are still looking, I have a complete set footpeg relocators and extended shift lever with instructions. Great for adding 2-3 extra inches of leg extension for taller riders. Can be seen at following site:

In very good condition. All together set sells new for around $300. Price negotiable.

Need to use the included extended shift level however does not come with an extended brake lever as this is not necessary. PM if interested or respond here and I will check.

Steven,..dog-gone, wish I had known. I ordered the lower mounts / pegs from B/B/Y. He just wasn't sure of the brake/shifter lever needs,..& does not have the levers. I thought I'd better get the rest while he had them?

Good luck with that. Let me know if you're interested in the shifter only. I know that with the set I have, the peg extenders move the pegs down about an inch or so, and also AWAY from the bike about an inch, so you may need to turn your left foot inward to get under and lift the shifter. If you need the extended shifter, let me know - it may make shifting more comfortable. I'll give you a good price. I'm trying to raise some cash to get a new windshield.

Is it absolutely necessary to to change the brake lever,& all...as well as the shift lever, when using the GS pegs for lowering the foot pegs

Well, to answer my own question.

The shift lever can be made to work with the GS peg set up.

But the brake side is a different ballgame. I will need the lever & M/cylinder pushrod.

I didn't try real hard to make the R shift arms work with the GS shifter,
or even for that matter to make the entire R shifter assy work.

I'd bet you could find the GS stuff somewhere - if BB doesn't have it,
try emailing some of the folks on ebay advertising BMW stuff.

I even found a totally good, bare roadster input shaft that way!

Have you seen my write-up on things like rear brake lines from the
MC, and the side and center stand issues?

There IS a little "tweaking" involved, but IMHO extremely well worth it.
I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

There are several files, kind of not really well organized, but you can glean
what you need from them - just in case you haven't seen them or aren't
aware of these other issues.
