Powerlet on dash inop, fuses good

01 RTP1100,
I have pulled most of the cop wiring off and everything works fine but dash powerlet.
I have checked all the fuses and all is good.
It was unplugged when i got bike, I plugged it back in but no power to it AND there is second big plug coming from powerlet lead with nothing to plug it to.
I have checked all under the dash a everything is plugged in.
I really wanted to plug my gps into that, Nuts...
TRUE I dont ride r1200 but the BMWmoa website logs me off, resends new password, so THIS IS the best site for BMR boxers.
I can't see a RT1100 forum on here, Maybe moderators could make one.....

Excellent opportunity for aux fused circuit. You could use same location for socket (probably retain the socket itself) but create new fused circuit connected directly to battery or using Centech/marine fuse block for future expansion. Good info here about such aux expansion electrics, on ADVrider, SportRider, etc.

Powerlet sockets are rated at 15A, using 14 gauge wiring for their own wiring kits. Checked this last week while considering aux circuit changes for my Rockster. I'm installing 2nd and 3rd Powerlet sockets in order to bypass use of the BMW OE socket located on starter cover of my Rockster... I prefer to have larger gauge wires supplying the aux sockets and appropriate fuses, with objective to protect the OE wiring harness and fuse box from potential problems.

Ummm.... wrong forum. This one is for R1200R's - not R11xx's.. and R1200R doesn't have fuses (from the factory, some of us add them for accessories..)

I guess the guys on the other forums don't share information, that's what made this such a great forum.
It is strange though a guy with a R1100 asks a question about a R1100 on a R1200 forum and he's answered by a guy with an R1150 with information that is totally irrelevant to a R1200R. Strange
