Street Guard 2 jacket shoulder armor?

Post by Terry »

Hi, I am a new member and have enjoyed and found useful information on this sight. I have a question about the Street Guard 2 jacket. By the book I am a size 56. I have what was an almost free Savanna size 56, which feels just right. I also have a Santiago that was on sale size 54. This is just hinting at being snug. On both the Savanna and the Santiago the shoulder armor cups nicely over the shoulder. The Street Guards' shoulder armor seems to be sliding toward my back. It doesn't cup my shoulder. I've wondered if the lining is out of whack. Anatomically I have been assured I am of normal composure. By the way the jacket is size 56. Before I start sewing darts in the lining I thought to ask if anyone else has seen this. I bought this as new with the tags still on from a fellow who had worked at a BMW dealership. So I am not the original purchaser. The construction of this jacket is top notch, reminds me of Arc'teryx welding and choice of fabrics. But why my problem?

I ride a 09 blue r1200r

the shoulder pads of my jacket sit just perfectly. About 90% of the pad remains outside the sewing line of the sleeve on the shoulder. Perhaps my shoulders are somewhat narrower...

awesome jacket by the way. I can't remember liking any other clothing as much as I like this one.

Could it be that left and right are swapped? They are different on my Streetguard 3 and if swapped, I see how they could feel like they are sliding to the back.
