Denali D2 LED aux lights

Ordered today... look forward to getting the install done (I hate doing electrical stuff - pain the butt, fiddly things - give me a stuck fastener & some dirty motor oil any day).

Lights arrived today. Anyone installed the Denali lights on the R12? I'm a bit annoyed to see the wiring calls for PosiTap connectors - either I missed that or they ought to have said so. Now have to either look for or wait for those...

Well, not started actually. Turns out the kit includes the positap connectors - yay - but I neglected to order the damned fixtures to mount the lights from the fender mounts. So waiting for those to clear customs. I envy you USA folks who don't have to wait for the gov't to stuff their fist up you know where before the things can finish the journey. Anyways, meanwhile my Haynes arrived, so I'm feeling good about having the tank off to do a proper wiring job & I've realized that connecting to the high & low beams in the headlight case is going to be no big deal since I already went in there to do the voltmeter I have running. So once I get the goods & have a Saturday morning clear, I'll get this sucker done & post some pics. Have also ordered a Marc Parnes balancer - last item I need to do my own rubber, so that's another project in queue... then maybe that rear fender thingy everyone has been raving about. By that time, something ought to be ready to break & take up some more time & money :-)

So, after staring at the bike for quite a while today, I've decided I'd like to attach the Denali D2's to the Motech crash bar I put on last year, but not sure what sort of fixture might be best or where to find one. The Motech is 1 inch painted steel tube, give or take depending which part of it we're talking about. Bottom line is I want the lights up higher and wider than where fender/brake mounts would leave them, but not too high (I considered mounting off the windscreen hardware - would be relatively easy, but I swap screens as the weather changes, so that's a pain in the ass for anything attached with wiring).

So I need something to wrap or clamp to the Motech tubing that provides a platform for the out-of-box mounts of the D2's - which, by the way, have an idiotically large bolt and nut - you could just about hold a wheel on with that hardware!
