Pirate's Lair R1150R back rest

Post by stevedore »

Planning a trip to north Georgia from Miami and need a rest for wifey. She has been a sport in the past but I want her to relax and enjoy this trip. I have an "04 1150 R w/ factory bracket and seat. Pirate's Lair used to sell a nice rest but it has been discontinued. Anyone have one for sale or have a suggestion? I know some shop sells a rest but I think it looks like a high school shop class first attempt. As a last resort I'll cal Sargent to see if they can modify the rear seat to accept a pad.
Thanks in advance.

Or you could put a Givi topbox on the back---their bracket strength and overall sturdiness is second to none--imo. My 04 is pictured on the POW page and shows mine. Mine does not have a pad attached but it served it's purpose for lots of 2-up riding with no complaints from the backseat

Here is a link to their site--I think my case is around 36 or 38 litre and of course is no longer available but they still have stuff to help keep the little gal safe plus give her more room for all the stuff that helps keep them happy. :)

My bike came with a similar Kappa top box cum backrest. Large enough to take a BMW system helmet. Think the mounting is the same as a Givi.
SWMBO feels very secure.
