Free file storage on the cloud (internet) is available if you need it. The free versions usually have either advertising, slower up/down loading, smaller drivespace or storage time limitations. It is really helpful if you want to upload a video file or just have a safe place to store your important file(s) you may need to access from elsewhere or give access to others. I even store (password protected!!) ZIP files of very important bank files there. Things like PDF, TXT, ZIP, EXE and REG files stuffed into one password protected ZIP file that I upload to their website. I have tried at least 3 of these file storage providers:
Gigasize
Sendspace
ADrive
The first 2 of them had smaller (300MB) file size, smaller drive space and 30--45 day free rental storage. There is also inactivity deletions. They were deleted, after I was politely notified by E-mail of their impending demise. ADrive was the best by far with 2GB max individual filesize and 50GB total storage with NO time limitation!! NO inactivity deletion either. There is also NO advertising, no slowdowns and the ability to E-Mail file access links to your friends or a group.

For pictures, you'll want to use a website dedicated for photobugs. I have tried over 5 of them for free photo storage on the cloud. The filesize and hotlink restrictive ones went by the wayside and http://photobucket.com/ rose to the top. I especially like their premade URL for a ThumbNail link to my pics like this one:
Click Thumbnail. Click big pic for full size. Moving mouse cursor off big pic autohides menu icons. You just hover over the ThumbNail in your album and a popup window shows the links you can slide down to. Then just click the link you want -once- and it's copied to the clipboard. Do a "Control-C" in your post where you want the ThumbNail to appear and it's all done for you. And you thought I was an HTML master.
