Happy Holidays!
I just want to say Top 'O the Season to all of my my fellow delirious(ly happy) R1200R owners, soon to be owners and wanna be owners (probably-will-be owners come Spring if they're reading this forum).
I'm hoping
will bring me a Russell Day-Long, but I'm not holding my breath. I have yet to install the engine guards that she (Yes, Virginia, Santa Claus is a woman) brought for me last year (there's a lot of inertia in these old bones).
I'm hoping

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.
Re: Happy Holidays!
Well, after reviewing some very worthwhile advice for my '07 R1200R, I decided to join today and use this forum to say hello to all of you. I was recently searching the web for an alternate to the costly BMW hand guards, and was directed here, where I discovered the Barkbuster Storm Hand guards. With a strong hint to my wife, Santa left them under the tree this morning. They mounted very easily and look great. The black hand guards on my black R1200 blend right in. Expected to be below freezing on the next couple mornings here in N.E. Florida, so I'll give them a good try riding to work Monday morning.
Thanks to all for this site. Let me get over the holiday crunch and I'll will join as a member-$$$-.
For now, Merry Christmas to all.

Welcome....If you want to get rid of the "Storm" name plate on the front of the gaurds, mine just popped right off leaving a clean surface.Jaguar wrote:Well, after reviewing some very worthwhile advice for my '07 R1200R, I decided to join today and use this forum to say hello to all of you. Re: Happy Holidays!
Thanks Ric, the Storm stickers were removed before I mounted the handgaurds. I'm not too fond of name plates either.

Re: Happy Holidays!
Hello Doug, Thanks to the welcome. Let me clarify things. The R1200R is not new to me, just the hand gaurds. I purchased my '07 model used in '08. I purchased it from the local dealer. It had less than 8,000 miles on her, and it was literally like new. I've been riding BMW's for over 25 years and this is the best bike I've ever owned. By the end of 2011, I expect to have reached my 300,000 BMW mile award.
Thanks for this forum, and I look forward to spending a lot of time here.
