Max Power Draw from Power Sockets?

I am new here and new to the R1150 RT.

How many amps can I draw from the Power Sockets?

On Page 5 of the Riders Manual it says that there is a 15 amp fuse. Despite the tech manual listing the fuse at 4 amps, I see the bike indeed does have a 15 amp fuse, but I understand that this circuit also powers some other systems.

How many amps of heated clothing can I continuously draw without overloading the system?

I can't give you any actual numbers here because I've never done my "homework", but I can tell you that I have used my heated pants, heated gloves, and heated jacket on several occasions and never had a problem. Not one.

It depends.

Here's the Fuse 3 component list for R1150RT:



The electrical schematic's legend describes the powered components as:

A9910 Radio
A9946 Rider information display (FID)
K9901 Relay, raise windscreen
K9902 Relay, lower windscreen
M9900 Motor for windscreen adjustment
X9321 STVB on-board socket 1
X9322 STVB on-board socket 2
X9350 STVB optional extra

So, in answer to your question about maximum power draw through socket(s), the draw in amps cannot exceed the total budget for 15A Fuse 3. The RID draw is likely small, but radio might pull an amp or two, same for the windshield motor. Available socket power is the balance.

Suggest you consider buying the Chilton's manual for BMW oilheads, which contains some electrical schematic info. Additional in-depth info is found on the BMW electrical schematics CD-rom, which I enthusiastically recommend.
