A while back I posted looking for pics of a Rich's seat and recieved no response. Rich had none and they only one I'd seen was in PeckHammer's video of his ride in fitting.
Well I took the jump and here is the result. I just spent four days touring Kentucky this week averaging 275 miles a day taking about 7 hours each day to do it (not many straight highspeed roads in KY). This seat gets the "I forgot about it" endorsement. Rich built it up for me about 1.5" and it took away a lot of the dish out of the seat and flattened it out. It has some minor wings not nearly as tractor like as a Russell or Bill Mayer.
The cover leather is really nice, workmanship is top shelf. It is noticably heavier than before he worked it but not nearly as heavy as the Corbin.

Google Rich's Custom Seats. He's just outside of Seattle. If you can ride in he can take care of you while you wait. I mail ordered mine. He's doing a group buy for the Adventure Rider website and that's 1/2 off the cost of the leather, resulting in $475.00 + shipping. All of his pricing is ala carte. That cost was for an upgraded leather cover with only the riders portion seating areas being shaped and he put a miracle polymer pad in it.

Another memeber on here asked a question via pm that I guess I should have included in the origional post: I started with a stock height seat from an '07, not a low or high model. So the height increase of 1.5" was from a medium seat. Pics-

I love the beer cans in the comparison photo! Where'd you get the second seat pan, BTW?
I still love my Rich's custom seat. Best aftermarket accessory I bought, with the systems cases coming in at a close second. I like the idea of adding more height since on long highway rides I wish the pegs were lower. Seems that the higher seat would have the same effect as lower pegs, sans any spark generation in the twisties. If I ever need to have another seat made for my R, I might try some extra height.

The beer can is a college artifact for scale. I had a geology prof who used a Bud can for scale comparison in all of his field photo's I scored the used pan here on the site.
Yeah the extra height serves the same purpose as lowered pegs would. However, I don't think even with lowered pegs I'd be scraping anything, I'm slow. When I talked with Rich after sending him pics of me on the bike and flat footing it stopped he was pretty insistant on raising the height. I'm 6'4" with a 34" inseam, he was like "you're one big a$$ dude, you need leg room. Glad I took his advice.
Really like youe videos, keep up the work
