Changes/Modifications R1100R

Post by omg1010 »

Hi everybody,

here http://picasaweb.google.com/omg9500 you can have a look at my bike (R1100R) and the modifications taking place. The albums will be updated whenever something is happening. You need to open the link in a new tab/window as the provider does not allow display in a frame.

A new oil cooler is presently being made and will come in approx. 4 weeks. The new fork (coming off the R1100S) is ready and already installed. However I have just discovered that the bearing of the upper fork bridge is damaged. Hence replacement is required. I am working on fitting a new dashboard (Translogic Micro Dash 2) and blending in the latter with my fairing.

I'll keep you updated about the progress.

Best regards
Oliver

Hi all,

just got myself the 1150 cylinders from the workshop as well as the rods and pistons. The cylinders have been milled down at the bottom shaft to fit into the engine block. The rods have been weight-tuned (50gr less each), finely grinded and finally blasted with ceramic balls. The pistons (forged high-power pistons increasing the compression to 12.5:1) have received special treatment, all the edges on top have been finely rounded and polished.

Next week the heads come off and will get overhauled.

Photos as usual on http://picasaweb.google.com/omg9500 (please open in a separate window).

Have a nice weekend!

Brgds
Oliver
