quick advice needed

Post by hoflix »

i am prepping for a cross-country trip, and i am looking for a windshield. I know, I know, it's been discussed over and over. and then some.

I am 5.6 with a low seat.
I don't have the touring bracket, so the well--known ones are not an option. plus the price... i need to keep it under 150.

So I'll keep it short.

Has anyone tried this? http://www.adventuremotorcycleparts.com ... gory_Code=
or this : http://www.adventuremotorcycleparts.com ... gory_Code=

Impressions?

There's some other options over there too

I have a brand new (yes, brand new) BMW sport shield and bracket, I live in Downey which will be local to you, if interested you can call me at my cell 562-972-6149. If you want it you can have it for 150.00

I just ordered a Dart Flyscreen which has not been discussed on this board as best I can tell. I think it is similar in size to the BMW sport screen but more traditionally styled and 1/4th the price. They don't say whether it fits the an R1200R so I ordered the Ducati Monster version. The Monster brackets affix only to the headlight bolts and I think the headlights on the Monster and R1200R are the same size or close to the same size so I don't see how it can't fit.

I paid $119 with mounting brackets. How can I go wrong at that price? Worst case, it doesn't work on the R1200R and I have to eBay it to one of the gazillion people with a monster.

I ordered mine from the guy that produces them and he is in the UK so it will probably take a while for it to get here. However, you can find it through US distributors such as this one:

http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/DART/Win ... /DART.html

They sell it for $109.00.

Rudy.

Good price, indeed, but I have the BMW sport shield already. It's too small for long distance touring. And noisy 8-[

thanks

and I got a TON of questions for you... since you seem to be the only one (???) who has it:

how does it mount? I am assuming to the handlebars... does it need a lot of space? i have the GS hanguards, would it interfere?

per the website, it's adjustable 4 inches... how does it feel, min/max, the air flow through the hole? does it really eliminate turbulence at the upper edge?

do you look through it or over it? i'm concerned if I have to look through it, it's probably annoying seeing the adjusting rails and the 2 sections all the time
