Do stock indicators self-cancel?

Post by Grey Thumper »

Just discovered this after a year of owning the bike. Nothing in the owner's manual that says the indicators cancel. Could this be an aftermarket thing?

No they don't. Probably a Kisan? signal minder that's been fitted.

If your bike's indicators self cancel, it's probably a Kisan signalminder. I have one on my R1150R. They allow you to press the signal button once to turn them on, press a second time to turn them off or just wait for them to go off. You can also press and hold to turn on and flash quickly. If wired correctly, the signal will stay on if you hold the brakes. Hope this helps.

The Rockster has self cancellng signals. Its part of the R1100S front suspension that is a component what I've heard called the BMW "Frankenbike". . . GS headlights, R1100S suspension, dash, etc.

My bike has them. I bought my LE80 new, and I can tell you without question that I have NOT added any aftermarket upgrade.

Wow, amazing. Curious that it isn't mentioned in the manual (I guess because as many pages as possible are just duplicated from the Roadster manual).

But nice to know, thanks! Never realized that, aside from ergos and gearing, there's yet another functional difference between the Rockster and Roadster.
