Man that's a sweet gift.

Was this you in the 80's?

Yes, I was doing the stray cat strut.

Previously, in the '70's, I had a different look but a similar guitar

Sweet! The maple looks good. Semi-hollow with dual humbuckers! I bet it sounds great.

It does, but now I need a better amp (tube amp) to bring out the great sound. Just what I needed -- another expensive hobby.

My wife bought me a really nice guitar for our 10th anniversary, right before I got my R12R.
(Ibanez SZ520QMTKS FWIW)

The guitar is all dusty...

The thought was was mattered.

ps. that's a real beuaty, Bob.

Have you tried any of the tone emulators yet? Line6 makes a pretty cool series... you can play through any amp you want!

Bob, Nice gift!

So have you taken the plunge into the tube madness yet? I don't play my guitar much anymore. My little practice amp has a tube driven pre amp stage, but solid state power amp stage.

But I do use a tube power amp for my home stereo. I just replaced some power tubes (and fuses) on it last week. Whenever something goes wrong, I use my receiver and I think, "Why don't I just go solid state?"

When I get it working again, I think, "Oh yeah, that's nice..."

It is expensive but, I must admit, it's just fun to play with devices with lethal voltages... :D

My current amp is a Line 6. It's OK but I really want a tube amp, or even a hybrid. If I find a good deal on a used Fender blues Jr I might buy that but since I just play at home I only need 5 watts or so.

I am considering a Fender Super Champ XD or a VibroChamp XD.
