The pict is more than fine. I headed south towards the Rock Store and the CHP unit from up top, was at the bottom of the hill with two CHP motors for what must have been a bike accident. I did not see anyone injured, but paramedics were rolling that way. I hear that happens a couple times each weekend.

I continued south to Old Topanga, and then down the coast to home.

Maybe we should schedule an R1200R breakfast meet at the Rock Store? Saturdays would be better as it not such a zoo.

You bet! I would be interested in a meet up. For the time being, (so far this month I am off on Sat & Sun, but on call).

Edit: Just checked the local weather forecast, looks like rain well into next week. That sucks. Sorry, to our North and Eastern friends that I have to complain about a little rain.

I can relate. Ours just happens to be 37 degrees...

Tom, you might also check your throttle free-play. When I picked up my used '07 the throttle had way too much free-play. I adjusted it to a bare minimum and it really improved the on-off throttle transitions.

Is this an easy thing to do? Pretty much intuitive?

Mike,
If that road was in New Jersey they (the ones in power) would put toll booths on it and make a fortune. Bad news is the money would disappear somewhere in the bureaucracy. I really got to get out there some day.

I moved to LA from Delaware. Spent a lot of time in the garden state so I know what you mean about the tolls. When you come I'd be happy to give you a tour of the local mountain roads.

Yeah, it's easy. On the throttle cable there is a long plastic nut with a separate knurled locknut holding it in place. Loosen the locknut, adjust the plastic nut until the free play is where you want it, and retighten the locknut. I adjusted it so there is basically no free play at all, but the throttle still closes completely when released. Turn the bike on and make sure you can turn the bars lock to lock with no change in the idle. (Disclaimer: I'm no mechanic, so if anyone has more insight on this please post it!)
