Good tire prices at Cycle Gear
Shopping for a front Z6 (120/70-ZR17) I checked the usual places. In the past I've had excellent luck at swmototires---they wanted $120.95, but also $14 shipping if buying just one tire (buy a pair, shipping is free). Motorcycle Superstore had the tire for $113.99 with free shipping. But I need a tire for a trip in 2 weeks so I was nervous about delivery times and just for the heck of it checked Cycle Gear (we have a store in town). They had one online for $109.97, but our local store is running a manager's special on road tyres, 20% off! So, I ordered one at the store (did not have in stock) and got it for $103.61 (includes shipping + local tax (not assessed for the other two sources) + $2 mandatory disposal fee). Now if it comes in this week, I'll be a happy camper. Sometimes local is best.

Dave, That is a good price. I recently bought a Pirelli Strada 120/70 ZR from Motorcycle Superstore and paid the $113 is also a good price. My `03 is at 34,595 and I installed that front at 13,800, or 20,795 miles on the tire. No steel belts showing, but there isn't much tread there, it has some fairly rough cupping on the sides. I replaced the rear at about 15,000 miles due to its having ingested a 3" nail. This is my 2nd set of Stradas. I like the way they handle and they've certainly lasted. It came with Metzler ME Z4s and I liked those a lot until they neared replacement and at that point the handling got weird.
I don't get caught in the rain, I ride in it on purpose.
