Photo Project for R1200R owners (PHOTOS on pg 9 of Thread)

Post by Rocket »

READ THIS THREAD THEN JOIN IN!

I 've had an idea which requires a certain amount of co-ordination and co-operation between a few R12R owners.

My pride and joy has been photographed from every angle already. Presumably yours has too. Now, wouldn't it be really cool to put together a collection of photos of R1200R owners bikes?

The project is to create an owners-bikes calendar - R1200Rs From Around The World.

If you are interested , please add your name at the bottom of the thread.

Go on, join in. Wouldn't it be great to have your bike included in the Forums' unique collection calendar

Rocket, UK

PS Everyone will have access to an electronic copy of the full collection of photos plus be able to order (for a small sum) a printed copy of the calendar - see details below.

AS AT 11TH JULY, WE HAVE 20 OWNERS FROM 7 COUNTRIES CONTRIBUTING PHOTOS TO THE PROJECT. 31ST JULY IS THE TARGET DATE WHEN ALL PHOTOS NEED TO BE SUBMITTED SO THERE IS STILL TIME FOR OTHERS TO JOIN IN

I'm not 100% sure what you want to do but I'm game.

Photosynth?
http://photosynth.net/default.aspx

It's an intriguing way to capture random photos of one place, or object and navigate around the whole including detail shots.

It's important to have a representative of the fastest color (black with white stripes), so I'm in.

Count me in, too.
This sounds interesting.

BTW, when an R1200R is not fully up to specs they paint it black as a sign of mourning for lost horsepower. :p

Cheers

Black with white stripes is THE number one color that aspiring morticians pick. :D

Any bets on what the most popular colour will be. Using my controversial demographic model my guess is

1. black (with stripe) .......... the traditionalists
2. black without stripe ..........the fashion conscious
3. Silver ............................owners of the actual fastest bikes, but we let the black owners think they are
4. Blue................................the individualists
5. Grey................................bargain hunters
6. White..............................secretly wants to be a traffic cop...

Does anyone from Europe ever join this forum....like.. Germany for instance?. (Nippy Normans reckon they sell loads of R1200R huggers to owners in Italy and Germany)

Am thinking about how to make best use of the photos. A few ideas:

Merge into a group photo. Would work well as a screen saver. Hard copy photo prints would need to be large though.

If we get 12, create 2010 Calendar ! ...anyone live close to some mountains to get a snow shot? :)

The Photosynth package looks good (see vielzebubs reply, above). You simply take a few photos of your bike from different angles. Submit the photos and the software does the rest. Good way to present all the best views of each bike. Like this idea, although a bit more hassle.

plus , will circulate the compilation file to each contributor (so you can have your own slide show of the group's bikes)

feel free to comment...

Guess this shot will be hard to beat...

Don't really get the whole thing...
of what is about the thing that is about the thing.
:p

But I am Totally IN !

Is nudity Ok for the 2010 calendar ?
or are we talking about some kind of boring Anglo-protestantic
and Supra-Puritanistic project ?

I have to tell you that our "R" is German !
and its not like German's dislike anything that matter to nudity &/or beers...

Just wanted to mention this details, hoping it may help the overall openness
of our global creative brainstorm
