Touring Wellnes Bar

Post by danstl »

Anyone install one of these on their R1200R? I had one on my R1150R, but my dealer here told me you could not put one on the R1200R because the clutch and throttle cables were too short. I know the cables on the other bike had to be re-routed, but not replaced.

Thanks.

Did you see: http://www.wunderlichamerica.com/mm5/me ... e=R1200R-X - Specifically for the R12R - with a longer brakeline.

They send you a longer brake line with it. I bought one and took it to the dealer who said it couldn't be installed. After telling them I've had them on other RR's and referring them to the Wunderlick site, they are going to install it tomorrow (I hope).

Finally got this installed after a full day at the dealer. About the same hand position as the stock bar with risers. One thing I don't like is that the new bar will not accept my Throttlemeister. I will be putting the Throttlemeister and the risers in the classifieds shortly.

I like the idea of wider bars. I really like the leverage I get with the bars on my bike. I rode for the first time in a while an 82 R100RS I used to own and the narrow bars seemed ridiculous after my nice wide ones. I don't necessarily want more of a riser in my bars for the looks of the thing. I have bar back which actually just rise and don't come back and I find it very comfortable.
