Georgia Mountain Rally

Post by celticus »

Is anyone other than myself going to the Georgia Mountain Rally Next week? Tons of great roads. I mean GREAT roads. A friendly bunch of people too. Lots of BMWs of all sorts.
We need more of an R1200R presence though. Don't make me do it all myself.
I plan on heading to the T.W.O. campground in Suches Ga. Tuesday and camping until Thursday or Friday when the rally starts and then moving and camping some more at the rally.

Mark,
A hint. When posting about a rally I always find it helpful if the dates and a link are provided.

Georgia mountain rally -- May 1-3. http://www.bmwmoga.info/2009gmr/

Hope you get some takers, I'll be riding in the MotoGiro USA that weekend. Roaring thru the Catskills in New York on a 125cc.

We'll have to work something out for the National so we all can meet each other. I'm in the same local club as Don, and I met a few other guys at the Finger lakes rally (Watkins Glen, NY) held in the fall.
I know their is a forum for rallys on this list but I rarely go on the rest of this list so the only guys I know are the R1200R guys (not such a bad bunch). Maybe we could all wear clown noses or mouse ears at the national so we could recognize each other.

Hey! Mark. I am going with a couple other guys (brick riders! how sad is that?) I have no idea where we'll end up camping as they are holding off to the last minute to see how the weather looks. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Cheers

Don't know where you will be camping? Won't you camp in the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds Campgrounds?
Don't let the weather worry you or you'll never make this rally. The threat of rain is ever present but we just smile through it. It makes for good campfire stories at the next rally.
See you there. I hang out with several brick riders. I try not to rub it in too much.

Hey! Mark, It appeared they were getting a large number of early registered riders. Not knowing the lay out, capacity of prime sites, etc., of the new camping grounds I wasn't sure where we may end up within the property.

New tires and oil change completed, just need to check the valves this week and all is ready to go. Enjoy your extra days camping, the weather looks to be perfect!

Cheers

Ah! Well look me up Bob. Mine is the crystal grey R1200R with the dirty carbon fiber hugger. I'm the shaven headed Colonel Sanders looking fellow nearby.
