I was so excited this week that spring had finally arrived with the flowers starting to bloom here (Vancouver, BC). Then today I got caught in a quick snow storm that was quite heavy. I sulked all the way home
That snowy weather looks brutal. I took a ride through the canyons yesterday and it was a little bit chilly, the R12R screen showed 62 degrees, but the sun was out and after I turned on the heated grips everything was okay.
Thanks for all your support. I hear rumors of a new ice age coming to the US and Vancouver so bundle up. It's headed for -23F tonight and -31F tomorrow night here. It would be bad enough even without the minus sign. Gotta go plug in the car; later.

No kidding. i can't remember (warning: my memory can be quite selective) it being zero/32 in March ever here!
Well, i'll still be riding to work tomorrow morning no matter. Maybe i can add to the snow shots.

Our President-Who-Knows-All says that Global Warming is going to burn us up.... you guys need to get with the program up there. You are NOT cold. You are HOT .
The polar ice cap is melting and you will shortly be underwater or floating into the Pacific.
Now go get on the bike and RIDE!
Oh wait.... that uses gasoline. You are part of the problem. Better get yourself a bicycle instead.

I'd reply with quotes, but I'm in the garage on my iPhone having a cigar and freezing.
Lumpcam: That snow is just rude for Vancouver this time of year. I'm right about the Ice Age!
Ka5ysy: Unfortunatly you're right about being part of the problem. It's a moral dilema that we all face. Polluting for pleasure will likely become as socially unacceptable as the Cuban I'm enjoying right now. You can't make yourself nuts about it, but that day will come. I wouldn't mind hearing other's thoughts about this problem that we all face.

It was a miserable snowstorm this morning and then... it turned into a spectacular day and reminded why winter can be the most beautiful time of year. Here's the view from the R12R's c-pit on the way home:
I would have the same view from my C-pit except that it's in a warehouse under its cover with the battery plugged in and there's probably frost on the inside of the overhead door.
What's the cost for a bike on the Horseshoe Bay ferry to Naniamo?

I think it's $20 for the bike and then $13 per passenger. Bikes get a bit ripped off on the cost, but the best part is you ride to the front of the line and get on the first ferry. This is a huge deal in the summer when waits can otherwise be from 1 to 4 hours.
Thje crocuses are out and the daffodils are coming up. Rode to the dealers yesterday to get the recall work done, and back today. It was great! I've been on the bike only ONCE this winter.

We've turned the corner, it was -41F at the airport Tuesday morning but headed for +32F tomorrow, it must be summer! Off to BVI next week for 10 days and when I get back it WILL be Spring. Then only a couple of more weeks to riding. It's kind of like going on a date with your high school sweethart 20 years later, the anticipation is killing me. I can't wait!
